LIROS Polypropylene Floating Mooring Warps

LIROS Multifilament Polypropylene rope is an excellent, lightweight, pliable, floating mooring line with a finish/feel very similar to polyester. 'Floating' can be an important property for mooring warps in some situations e.g. mooring lines from stern to shore in the Mediterranean.

LIROS manufacture their multifilament polypropylene in two different rope constructions that are suitable for mooring warps and general-purpose handling lines:

• Three Strand - Traditional spiral twisted lay, heat set to maintain structural integrity, requires a judicious roll of the thumb over the line when coiling or hanking to prevent twists or snarls
• Eight Strand - Octoplait Squareline construction (two pairs left hand, two pairs right hand), non-kinking, non-cockling balanced performance with no twist under tension

LIROS 3 Strand White Multifilament Polypropylene Article 01120:

• Manufactured from 100% Heat Set Multifilament Polypropylene to DIN EN ISO 1346 Standard
• > 15% working load stretch provides good shock absorption
• Low water absorption
• Stays pliable for the duration of working life
• LIROS Break Load: 8mm 1040kg ~ 10mm 1600kg ~ 12mm 2200kg ~ 14mm 3000kg ~ 16mm 3700kg ~ 18mm 4700kg - 20mm 5700kg

LIROS Squareline Octoplait Polypropylene Articles 01078/01079/01080:

• 8 Strand, Balanced, Square Braid Construction
• Manufactured from 100% Multifilament UV-stabilised Polypropylene
• > 15% working load stretch provides good shock absorption.
• Low water absorption
• Stays pliable for the duration of working life.
• LIROS Break Load: 12mm 2100kg ~ 14mm 2700kg ~ 16mm 3400kg ~ 18mm 4000kg - 20mm 5000kg
• Available in: White - LIROS article 01078, Black or Yellow - LIROS article 01079/80

N.B. Even after UV stabilising, polypropylene is susceptible to deterioration in the sun and is not as strong as polyester or nylon.
