Jimmy Green Purchase Systems have been developed from the October 2015 Sailing Today article on Overboard Recovery, to help raise a load by effectively dividing the weight by the relevant factor = 6:1 or 8:1
A Jimmy Green Purchase System, also known as a Handy Billy, makes light of all manner of tasks that would be impossible without a mechanical advantage.
Purchase Systems are measured, spliced and reeved in house, by the Jimmy Green Rigging Team.
Jimmy Green Purchase System options:
The Purchase System effectively divides the load by the corresponding ratio which in turn dictates the maximum manageable weight.
e.g. Based on a maximum straight lift for a single person of 20kg:
6:1 divides the load by 6 - for lifting loads up to 120kg on the same basis 8:1 divides the load by 8 - for lifting loads up to 160kg on the same basis.
