MG Duff Zinc Shaft Anode

MG Duff 25mm and 1 inch (25.4mm) zinc shaft anodes come with bolts included.

Unlike traditional anodes, the new design incorporates a mild steel core bar which controls anode wastage and prevents it shaking free.

When a hull is immersed in water, anodes protect the various metal components (propellor shaft, keel, rudder, engine) from the deterioration caused by galvanic corrosion.

Galvanic corrosion (also called electrolyte) is the deterioration of metal which occurs when dissimlar metals are joined together by a conductor in an electrically conductive fluid.

The least noble metal (the anode) dissolves while the most noble metal (the cathode) remains protected.

Zinc is the correct anode metal for yacht protection in salt water.
