The Ratchet furling mechanism is permanently engaged in both directions providing for greater furling control. The ratchet also disengages during rapid furling to reduce resistance. In lighter winds or for smaller sails with lighter loads, the ratchet can be easily removed without dismantling the unit via 2 screws under the drum. The ratchet range relates to the same sizing guide as the standard Nex flying sail fuller.
