Jimmy Green Anchorplait® Nylon Anchor Chain Snubbing Strops alleviate the detrimental snatches and jerks associated with all-chain anchor rode systems - a single stretchy nylon line which takes the strain off the windlass and absorbs the shock loading.
The snubbing line can be led offset through a port or starboard fairlead, but for longer-term anchoring, the line should be routed over the bow roller, through the stemhead fitting and made fast to the most suitably positioned deck strongpoint.
A careful, precautionary assessment of any potential chafe issues is recommended, with preventive action taken where necessary:
Jimmy Green Chain Snubbing Strops are available in Anchorplait, Eight-Strand and traditional Three-Strand construction.

LIROS Anchorplait® White Nylon Article 01058JG is manufactured EXCLUSIVELY by LIROS Ropes with Easy Splice Markers for Jimmy Green Marine.
The eight-strand construction, two pairs left hand, two pairs right hand, delivers a balanced performance and no undesirable twist under tension.
Anchorplait is the rope that won't cockle.
In fact, it falls and flakes like a chain.
Anchorplait makes an ideal snubbing line because it will stay supple for the duration of its working life.

LIROS specify their minimum break loads in Dekanewtons (DaN)
Kg force is a more recognisable illustration of strength, so you can convert the LIROS DaN values as follows:
1 Dekanewton = approximately 1.02 kg force
Therefore, the strength for any given diameter will be higher in kg than in daN, e.g. 11800daN = approximately 12036kg.
Plain white LIROS Octoplait Nylon article 01058 with only LIROS tracer yarns is also available.
Jimmy Green Advisory
Attaching the hook or grab with a shackle may seem a little clunky, but it does mean that the hook can be removed for a mooring application and replaced if required.
