Antifouling

What is Antifouling?

Antifouling is the most common (and most important) painting job carried out by boat owners.

It is vital to protect the underwater surfaces of your boat using antifouling paint because once fouling has a hold on your hull it will rapidly colonise the surface making it difficult to remove.

Applying an antifouling paint to the hull of your boat will prevent the attachment of fouling organisms such as barnacles, weeds and slime - a fouled hull can cause serious problems, therefore prevention is much better than cure.

Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Hempel Antifouling Guide - PDF

Jimmy Green Marine stock both International and Hempel antifouling, two well regarded manufacturers of antifouling for cruising Motor and Sailing Yachts.

Jimmy Green Despatch Team: Meticulous Packaging: The tins are packaged with care, sealed with copious amounts of tape and packed into purpose designed/sized carboard boxes, padded out with extra packaging material where required. The zealous sealing and the extra impact protection means that there is very little chance of any leakage. Sometimes, the tins can arrive a little dented, but that doesn't affect the quality of the paint :-)
